Sydney Festival
Sydney Festival fills January with more than 130 free and ticketed events, indoors and out. Pick a free one for an easy summer date.

Vivid Sydney
Vivid lights up the harbour around Bennelong Point for 23 nights, and the outdoor light displays are free. Walking the route keeps a winter date moving.

Spring (October to early November)
Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi
About 100 sculptures line the coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama, and it is free. The 2026 show ran from 16 October to 2 November, so look out for next spring's dates.
